Russia Ukraine Crisis Live: Approximately 40% to 50% of Russian ground troops deployed near the Ukrainian border have moved to attack areas near the border, says a U.S. defense official, citing this as an indication that Russia is preparing for a possible attack.

A satellite imagery taken this week depicts military activity in many parts of Belarus, the Crimean federation in Ukraine and western Russia near the Ukrainian border.
